Our foam manufacturing facility in Phoenix, AZ, is looking for a Mechanical Technician to oversee and manage foam production processes efficiently. This role requires operating machinery, handling materials, and maintaining product quality while following strict safety standards. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining production efficiency.
Full-Time | On-Site | Reports to Production Supervisor
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 5 AM – 3 PM
What You’ll Do:
1. Production & Machine Operation
- Set up, operate, and monitor foam production equipment in line with standard procedures.
- Adjust machine settings, including airflow, vacuum levels, and line speeds, to maintain product consistency.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure foam products meet density and quality specifications.
- Start, stop, and troubleshoot machinery as needed, including handling emergency shutdowns.
- Keep accurate records of production metrics and identify areas for improvement.
2. Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Identify and resolve minor machine issues independently.
- Perform routine maintenance, such as cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
- Work closely with the maintenance team for complex repairs or system upgrades.
3. Material Handling & Inventory Control
- Measure, mix, and load raw materials (chemicals, activators, and additives) according to production needs.
- Safely handle and store foam blocks and activator drums.
- Track inventory levels and report shortages or inconsistencies.
4. Team Collaboration & Communication
- Coordinate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and efficiency.
- Communicate production updates, challenges, and process improvement ideas.
- Support colleagues by assisting during peak production times.
5. Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols and other safety regulations.
- Participate in safety training and maintain a clean and organized workspace following 5S standards.
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Prior manufacturing or production experience, especially in foam or similar industries (preferred).
- Strong mechanical aptitude with problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to operate forklifts, tow motors, or gantry cranes (a plus).
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic math skills for accurate measurement and mixing.

- Reduce material waste and maintain proper documentation.
Work Environment
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Work in an industrial setting with exposure to chemicals, heat, noise, and physically demanding tasks.
- Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
- Navigate uneven surfaces, ramps, and stairs throughout the facility.
